Have you met Naval?
Let's discuss a quote that I came across this week, that I feel needs to be shared with all of you.
"A fit body, a calm mind, a house full of love. These things cannot be bought - they must be earned."
This quote has been credited to Naval Ravikant. For those not familiar with his name, Ravikant is an entrepreneur and investor, who has become much more of a life philosopher who shares deep thoughts and wisdom. Over the years, he has been an investor in Twitter, Uber, FourSquare, and approximately 200 other companies. Since those early stages, he has been writing and podcasting about the pursuit of health, wealth, and happiness.
I think that the take-home message from this quote is quite powerful. We often spend the majority of our day working to earn a living. We then use that money to buy things that we think will make us happy. Those things that we buy will often give us a temporary, fleeting sense of happiness, but they are not the things that will truly make us happy. It is the peace that you feel when you are healthy, mentally and physically, and surrounded by people who love you that makes you truly happy.
What are you doing today to earn a fit body, a calm mind, and a house full of love? More importantly, are you doing anything that could cost you any of those things...
