How did you celebrate?
Over the Independence Day weekend, we spent the majority of our time with our friends. That is the way that we like it. Some of that time was planned well in advance, and some of it was more spur of the moment. Isn't that how life seems to work though?
One of our favorite things to do is to host friends at our house, especially in the summer. There is nothing better than sitting poolside and having a conversation with friends, while the kids are swimming. After a couple of hours together, I slip away to go upstairs and prepare a meal for everyone on my new Blackstone griddle (which I absolutely love by the way). Typically, after sharing a meal the kids want one of two things - either dessert or to get back in the pool! Both of which give the adults more time to chat. That is what I call a win-win situation.
These days spent with friends are what matters the most in life. It is all about having time and the freedom to spend that time doing what you love, with people you care about.
