I guess it is time to move on...

Last week, I promised you that I would finally move on from The Comfort Crisis and I am certainly a man of my word. As much as I loved that book (and I really did, and would recommend it to anyone) it is time to seek out more knowledge. This time using a different format.

Over the past 20 years in practice, we have always tried to seek out additional information and skills to enable us to better assist our patients. Sometimes we gather that information through books, or audiobooks, or even podcasts. These are always relatively easy to find. However, some of the most impactful lessons come from our continuing education courses.

Pre-COVID it was always pretty easy to find impactful in-person courses to expand our knowledge and provide new tools to help with treating our patients. Since COVID hit, it has been a struggle to find courses that we think will provide the necessary impact on our clinical skills.

About 6 months ago, a friend and colleague invited me to join an online course that he put together during COVID to share his expertise with a small group of Chiropractors and Physical Therapists. I respect him, and was honored that he thought to include me in this small group. It did not take long for me to tell him that I would love to join the initial cohort going through the program.

The focus of this course is on improving our patient's clinical outcomes by assisting them in incorporating fitness into their daily life outside of our office. As he was telling me more and more about the program I began to realize just how robust this program was going to be, and how much we would be able to use to help our patients. Then he told me that it would likely be a 16-week program... My jaw hit the floor! Not in a bad way, but in an excited way. This was exactly what I had been looking for.

For the next 16 weeks, I will be spending quite a bit of my "free" time learning from pre-recorded lectures, online group discussions, one-on-one sessions with my friend, and other assigned reading. I cannot wait!

So look out! Expect some nuggets of wisdom headed your way over the next 4 months!
