I recently watched a great episode of a new Netflix series, based out of Australia, called Ask The Doctor. It is a series that focuses on educating the public in regards to one health-related topic per episode. The Episodes tackle topics like Obesity, Diet, Sleep, and the one that is most relevant for us is a 30 minute discussion on Pain.

Most people are not aware of how our body experiences pain, and this episode does a great job of explaining our current understanding regarding the experience of pain. Notice that I said our current understanding because as more and more research is performed we begin to understand a little more about the process. If you would like to learn more about how and why we feel pain, then you owe it to yourself to watch the Pain episode of Ask The Doctor!

This week I wanted to share a great article from the Harvard Health Blog! The title of the article is "Babying Your Back May Delay Healing" and the information in it is great! For years doctors have been telling their patients to lie down and rest while trying to get over an episode of lower back pain, but we KNOW that that just is not true! THe subheading of the article says it best "Exercise and Movement may be the best medicine for back pain." Sometimes I feel like when I tell people this they think that I am just making stuff up. Well, I am not making things up and HARVARD agrees with me! Share this article with your friends who think they need to lay still and do nothing because they have lower back pain!

Movement is my medicine,
