Hug The People You Love TODAY!
This past weekend was awesome! Dr. Carol and I were able to attend Forward 19, the 2nd annual convention of the Forward Thinking Chiropractic Alliance in St.Louis. There were world-class speakers, including Gray Cook, a well known Physical Therapist, who has been one of the largest influences on the way our office operates and Annie O'Connor, another renowned PT who focuses on teaching providers how to help patients understand the causes of their pain.
As you can imagine, we gained valuable information from each session and from our colleagues who were in attendance.
As our final session was wrapping up, the most important, impactful moment of the whole conference was about to be revealed.
Bobby Maybee, the founder of the Forward Thinking Chiropractic Alliance, presented the Brody Stanley Recognition. Brody is the son of Dr.Mike Stanley, one of the members of the FTCA and a friend of mine. Brody has Diastrophic Dysplasia, a form of dwarfism, and has been fighting every day, never giving up despite numerous surgeries and trips to A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Brody, his parents, and his new little sister will never stop fighting and have taught us the power of perseverance and resilience. No matter what cards you are dealt, you find a way to keep moving forward.
The Recognition was given to my friend, Dr.Steven Bird, who recently lost his son, Roman, in a drowning accident. His family has found a way to endure and overcome this tragedy. Their stories serve as inspiration for all of us to be grateful and motivation to rise up against adversity. Donations were made to the charities of both families choosing, and we rallied around them.
Tonight... hug your kids a little longer... call your brother that you have not seen in a couple of months... reach out to an old friend...
