Have you ever been asked to do something that was just a little outside of your comfort zone? You agree to do it, then realize that you have made it out to be much tougher than it actually was. That happens to me all the time. I was asked by the Maryland Chiropractic Association to provide a 5-hour lecture to the chiropractic assistants (CAs) from around the state. In order to make sure that I was ready for this, I spent a lot of time over the past month preparing for this past weekend. Luckily for me, it was a topic that was near and dear to my heart. They asked me to teach this group of CAs how they could bring rehab exercise into their chiropractic offices!
Many of these CAs said that they use "some" exercise in their offices, but not as frequently as they could. So we pulled the curtain back a little and showed them a little of what we use to help you guys get better! Many of these CAs had never even seen some of the exercises that we were using, and had no idea how, or when, to apply them.
We broke it down for them! Nicole and I spent 5 hours teaching these CAs our thought process, then teaching and demonstrating the exercises, then answering questions. Rinse and Repeat! It was an amazing opportunity, and we are grateful that the Maryland Chiropractic Association asked us to do it.
Looking back on it, the opportunity seemed like it would be a significant challenge. Talking for 5 hours... That is a huge challenge in itself! However, if you put in the work to prepare for the opportunity, you can climb any mountain put in front of you!
Here are a couple of pictures from the class!
