Who's Health Is More Important Than Yours?
Earlier this week, someone forwarded an old blog post to me, from a well known strength coach. The article is spot on. As a father of three little girls, this post made me stop to think about what I was doing to reassess my daily interactions with my daughters, and the issues that will lie before me over the next 20 (or probably more) years. Jim "Smitty" Smith wrote a great open letter, in the form of a list, to his daughters, with some of the items being serious and some a little funny. However, each item rings true for every parent, and as I am sure many of you know having happy, healthy, well-adjusted children can have a drastic impact on our own health. A couple of my favorites from Smitty's list are:
1) Remember, the way I treat your Mom is what you should look for in your life.
3) If I tell you that he's not good enough for you, it is because I don't see enough of me, in him.
10) I never knew what true love was until you were born.
19) Don't be scared; be brave. Don't hesitate; take action.
