It's Time To Look Ahead
Last week we discussed reflecting back on the successes and failures of the past year, but now it is time to put all of that behind us and focus on Step 2 of the process. We need to stop reflecting and begin to look forward. What do you want to accomplish in the next 12 months? How will you know if you have been successful in reaching your goals?
Your goals are personal, and setting those goals should not be taken lightly. Every year, I spend an entire afternoon setting my goals for the next year. Some of those goals will be professional, and some will be personal, but they are ALL important! The focus of the afternoon is boiling my goals, which are often very nebulous, into goals that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely.) We cannot overstate the importance of setting this specific type of goal. If your goal is not established in this format how will you know if you have actually reached it? Take the time to determine your goals moving forward, then write them down! Write them in a place where you will see them! Look at them EVERYDAY!
Make a plan, then work the plan!
What are your goals for 2020?
Movement is my medicine,
